🍮 Classic Brazilian Flan (Pudim)

Description:
A classic Brazilian dessert, this sweet and creamy flan is topped with a golden caramel sauce. Simple to make and impossible to resist!

🧂 Ingredients

For the flan:

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz / 395g)
  • 2 cans full-fat milk (use the same can to measure)
  • 3 eggs

For the caramel sauce:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the caramel:

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar until it turns golden brown.
  2. Carefully add the water (it will bubble), stirring until fully dissolved.
  3. Pour the caramel into a flan mold (with a hole in the middle), coating the sides. Set aside.

2. Make the flan:

  1. In a blender, combine the sweetened condensed milk, milk, and eggs. Blend for about 1 minute.
  2. Pour the mixture into the caramel-coated mold.

3. Bake in a water bath:

  1. Cover the mold with aluminum foil.
  2. Place the mold in a larger baking pan filled with hot water (water bath).
  3. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

4. Cool and unmold:

  1. Let it cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  2. Run a knife around the edges and invert onto a serving plate.

Tip: For a smooth flan without holes, blend gently and avoid overmixing.
